About me

Hello!

My name is Johanne.

I am an illustrator and a piano teacher.

My studio is in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

My illustrations are meant for children, but adults like them too.

I love my family, harmony, niceness and connection...

I can be a tough worker, I don't seem to give up easily..:) And for the rest? I like colors, but not always.

During summer I live in Sweden with my family.

My grandfather was an artist, but he ran away.

The compliment I like the most:

'I want to live in your illustrations.'

I find bathrooms very inspirational. Can't help that now, can I?

I laugh a lot, but sometimes I have serious moods. Don't we all?

My studio looks like this, but sometimes I feel it green. Or red. Or quite something else.

I use to start with making a tiny pencil drawing on a tiny piece of paper. This is a neat one, but I can be Very Messy.

Then I make a lot of mess creating a monotype with my own structure, using a gel plate, brayer, acrylics, pencils and garden things.

In the end I continue the process on the computer. Some illustrations need more editing. Others not so much. It can be this. Or quite something else.
